OUR CHILDHOOD!!!!

Hi everybody!!!


The end of our academic course is getting closer and nowadays, we are dealing with past tenses in the classroom, that is the reason why we are going to put in practise all we have learnt making a presentation about your childhood.


To make it properly, take into account these rules:


1) Select pictures of you, when you were a child, up to now.


2) You can use as many slides as you want, but remember you only have 3 minutes for your whole presentation.


3) In each slide you should write a sentence using the past tense to describe what you were doing at that picture.


4) When you present your PowerPoint to the rest of the class, you should explain what you did in the pictures you have chosen and they can ask you as many questions as they want.


 Enjoy it and do your best!!!

NEW PROJECT: A PHOTOSTORY

Dear students,


We are about to finish our unit 7 and from now on, you are able to describe a house, a bedroom and so on, that is why I have decided to do a final Project for this unit titled :  A PHOTOSTORY.


To elaborate this Project, you have to follow these instructions:


1) Take a DINA A3 SHEET.


2) Try to collect all magazines and newspapers you have at home.


3) Make up a story with characters from those magazines and newspapers


4) Throughout this story you must describe the house or the bedroom of the main character.


So, as you can appreciate, you should design a kind of comic made with characters and ítems from magazines and newspapers. Be creative and original to get a better mark.


DEADLINE WILL BE: 12TH MAY.

MY IDEAL HOME!!!

Hi guys!!


In this unit you will learn vocabulary related to the house and household ítems and we will learn how to describe a house, a room, a picture....


To start with this unit I want you to make a comment about your ideal home. Imagine you earn enough money to buy your ideal house...how would it be?? Tell me something about the type of house, decoration, characteristics and why you consider this house is the ideal, the best for you.

NEW PROJECT: FILM REVIEW

Dear students,


Our Easter holidays finished and I hope your battery will be charged as we are at our last term. Do your best to get worthy final mark ok??


To start our term, I have decided to plan a new Project related to films. I know you like almost all type of films and you really distinguish what is fact and fiction so, for this Project, you are working in pairs and you should follow these instructions:


1) Discuss with your partner and choose a film.


2) Make a film review about the film selected following the hints you have in your student´s book. This composition will be marked.


3) Design a PowerPoint presentation to introduce this film to your classmates. At this presentation you should take into consideration these ítems: Name of the film, type of film, main characters, main events and why you recommend it.


4) At your presentation,  you can include pictures, short videos about the film but don´t forget the most important thing: it is an oral presentation and the pairing should talk naturally and fluently.


5) As usual, CREATIVITY AND ORIGINALITY can raise your final mark.


6) Deadline: 14th April.

NURSE MATILDA: MAKING UP A NEW ENDING

Dear students,

We finished our reading: NURSE MATILDA but I¨m really interested in you performing a new ending of this story, that´s why we are going to divide the classroom into two groups and in two Fridays, more or less, you should be able to perform a new ending of this story.

Things to bear in mind:

1. It is an oral activity so, all members in the group will be marked taking into consideration their oral skills and the amount of oral production.
2. Creativity and originality will increase or decrease your final mark.
3. Organise your team to be efficient for instance, into small groups and remember that this is a group activity.

I trust you guys. I´m sure you will do your best!!!More information will be given in our English classroom.

NEW PROJECT: BASKETBALL RULES´ VIDEO

Hi guys!!

We are about to finish our unit 5 related to sports and we have planned a new project for you to learn several things:

1) You are going to learn (with your Art & Crafts teacher, Thomas) how to edit a video

2) Moreover, in PE lessons (with Raquel) you are going to know the most important and basic rules when you are practising BASKETBALL

3) And finally in our English lessons you are dealing with modal verbs. All of them should be put in practise when you design your video displaying basketball rules that is, the things that you can do in a basketball match and the things you mustn´t

4) We will work in group of fours

5) In your video you should answer the following questions:

• What are the rules of the game?
• How many players are there?
• What equipment do you need?
• What can you do in the game?
• How do you win the game?

We will present all these videos our first week after Easter holidays.

NEW PROJECT: A LEAFLET OF MY FAVOURITE CITY OR TOWN IN BRITAIN

Hi guys!!!

An interesting project is coming. Follow the instructions and enjoy it!!!

This project is going to be planned in pairs and a group of threes. This time I will select the pairings.

The project is titled: " A LEAFLET OF MY FAVOURITE CITY OR TOWN IN BRITAIN".

First, make a research throughout the following page: www.aboutbritain.com

Second, choose with your partner a town or a city in that page.

Third, design a leaflet with the most attractive places to visit. To design your leaflet we will go to the computing room and I will explain how to do it so, do not worry. This leaflet must contain information about the places you have previously selected and pictures. The information should be written with your own words. Copy and paste from the Internet are not allowed.

Fourth, before handing your leaflet in to me, you should present your city or town orally to your classmates. Your leaflet and your oral presentation will be marked. Creativity and originality will be taken into consideration. Do your best!!! Deadline is 30th January.

Dear students,

Here it is a video about different types of animals. I invite you to watch it and answer my questions in your notebook for next Wednesday 26th November.

According to the video:

1. Give a definition of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.
2. Give animals´ examples of these three groups according to this video.
3. Give a definition of nocturnal and diurnal animals.
4. Give three names of nocturnal animals and three names of diurnal animals.

NEW PROJECT: THE STRANGEST ANIMAL IN THE WORLD

A new project is coming. It is titled: THE STRANGEST ANIMAL IN THE WORLD.

It is an individual project where you need to make a previous research on the Internet,  looking for weird animals that you consider your classmates do not know anything about them.

NEW UNIT: ANIMALS!!!! UNDISCOVERED WORLD!!!

Dear students,

We start a new unit, quite interesting one, related to animals. I wonder if you like animals and if you have some pets at home. I do not have any pets but some friends of mine consider them as really important beings in their lives. 

Throughout this unit we are going to discover animals that you do not suspect they exist. You will see....Meanwhile, I would like you to make comments about how important animals are in your life or if you have any pets, just tell us how you behave with them and how they are. I´m looking forward to hearing your animals´stories.

BEST RESTAURANTS I´VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!

Dear students,

It was our first project in groups of six and seven people and you did it really well. What I like most is that you tried to create a real situation at the restaurant and your english was quite fluent and natural...WELL DONE!!! Now, second part is coming...you must sell your restaurant according to the clues I gave you below in another blog´s entry. GO AHEAD AND GOOD LUCK!!!

As you know, I have just finished correcting your Avatars and I am really impressed with some of them. What I took into consideration for marking this project is a complete description of your Avatar with the wide range of adjectives about personality and physical appeareance that we have previously learnt and above all grammatically correct sentences when you write and describe. And... here you are the best ones. I have choosen three. CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE THREE STUDENTS FOR DOING THEIR BEST.... and I encourage the rest ones to try to do it better and better.

TWO NEW PROJECTS:" SELLING YOUR RESTAURANT" AND "FOOD AROUND THE WORLD"

Hi everybody!!!


How´s it going? Are you ready for my proposal? I think it is quite interesting for you all.


I would like to introduce a new project titled: "SELLING YOUR OWN RESTAURANT"


To make this project I want you to be as much creative and original as you can and above all, pay attention to these instructions:


1) You have to imagine that you are the owner of a "cool" restaurant and you need everybody knows your restaurant. Then you have to create an advertisement to encourage all kind of people to come to your restaurant.


2) You are going to work in groups of six people and you should create a slogan or catchy sentence for your advert and a special menu to sell your restaurant to the audience.


3) The advert will be presented to the class orally and your deadline for this activity will be 4th November.


That project is compulsory for everybody

EXTRA PROJECT: For those of you that are interested in improving your final mark

This project is called: "FOOD AROUND THE WORLD"

To complete this project you should follow these rules:


1) Choose a continent and make a research on the Internet in order to know the typical food of that continent.


2) Select a typical dish of that continent and elaborate a power-point presentation only with images, no text is allowed.


3) In your power-point presentation you should explain why you have choosen this continent and that typical food. You should explain the origin of the selected dish, its ingredients and how it is cooked.


4) For your presentation in the classroom you are allowed to have a short and brief guideline to organize your ideas when you talk.


5) Deadline for this project: 11th November.

KNOWING ONE ANOTHER

This Project is a kind of warming up activity for you to know your new classmates and for me as your teacher to know you better.


To work with this Project, you should consider the following steps:

1. Bring three objects to class that identify you.
2. These objects should talk about your personality, your likes and dislikes, your interests, etc.
3. Think about how to introduce these objects to your classmates.
4. Next english lesson you will show your classmates your objects orally and in front of them. Any written text or piece of paper is not allowed. You should talk naturally and prepare your presentation at home.
